Are you looking for online piano lessons? I normally teach one-to-one at my studio in Notting Hill, but with the outbreak of the Coronavirus, we must all do our part to let 'social distancing' help with stopping it in its tracks. Thanks to my incredibly supportive students, it's business as usual here at WLPT, so why not join me online and take this opportunity to do something you've always wanted to!

Online Piano Lessons

If you asked me what is the most important thing about taking online piano lessons, I'd say 'enjoying yourself'. No-one progresses very far in anything unless they're enjoying it. I teach online piano lessons from my purpose-built piano studio in West London. Although I studied at a couple of famous London music colleges, I'm more proud of 30 years experience in the real world, playing piano and keyboards for a living. Having performed with major artists at music festivals, in concert halls, clubs and other music venues, I believe that offering practical live performance experience combined with a solid academic background is the most successful way to deliver online musical tuition in the 21st century.

Associate of the London College of Music

Before touring the world, composing TV and film music and releasing records, I studied at the Royal College of Music and the London College of Music, most notably with Peter Turton, William Lloyd Webber (father of Julian and Andrew), John McCabe and Susan Bradshaw. As well as piano and composition I studied violin, viola and drums, giving me a deep understanding of how musical arrangements work from different perspectives. This brings massive added value to my work. I hold an Associate diploma from the London College of Music, so you can draw on my solid theoretical background as well as my contemporary pop & jazz experience to help with your online piano studies.

Why Book My Online Piano Lessons?

My online piano lessons in Notting Hill W11 cover all styles of music. The ABRSM, LCM and Trinity syllabii, Pop Piano, Jazz Piano, R & B piano, Soul/Funk Piano, Gospel Piano, EDM etc. In 2019, becoming a strong, well-rounded musician requires so much more than many traditional academic approaches provide. I believe strongly in combining traditional teaching methods with more contemporary disciplines. Elements like improvisation, groove, rhythmic awareness, aural and recognition skills combine with technical ability, dexterity, sight reading (in many cases) and harmony (classical and jazz). IMHO all of these are essential to ensure the relevance of the modern musician in an ever-evolving world.
